Beethoven & Saint-Saëns Live in Kelowna

The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra (OSO) is set to captivate audiences with its upcoming concert, “Beethoven & Saint-Saëns,” scheduled for November 15, 2024, at 7:30 pm at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

Program Highlights:

  • Mendelssohn: Overture from The Hebrides, op.26 (Fingal’s Cave)
  • Saint-Saëns: Cello Concerto No. 1, op.33 in A Minor
  • Arlen: “Over the Rainbow”
  • Conrad: “Northern Sunrise”
  • Beethoven: Symphony No. 2, op.36 in D Major

The concert will feature acclaimed cellist Rachel Mercer performing Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1, a piece renowned for its lyrical beauty and technical demands. The program also includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, a work that showcases the composer’s early symphonic style with its vibrant energy and melodic richness
